My new book, "Good Times and Bad", is hot off the presses. It's 315 pages of stories stretching from World War II to the present day. There are four parts to the book, all of which will are guaranteed to provide a laugh and on occasion, an introspective look at the turns and surprises that life sometimes provides for us. Some of the stories touch on being a kid in the Truman / Eisenhower era and some of them examine what it meant to be a married, slightly stressed out grownup trying to raise children. Spending the warm weather part of retirement on our three acres in Indiana provided fodder for several stories and of course, there is a section on RV travel and the things we have experienced since we wrapped up the first book, "Travels with Susie." . |

My wife Susie and I survived the Y2K conflagration and decided that before anything else of that nature occurred again, we would set out to see the world. Around the end of the year 2001, we sold our home, bought a Dodge Diesel truck, a Sunnybrook 5th wheel and headed west. I began to chronicle our travels for our friends and this grew into an award winning weekly newspaper column and a monthly magazine article now published in 2 states and one foreign country. Our travels also culminated in a book about our adventures, "Travels with Susie".

One of the great things that we discovered about traveling was that it gave us the opportunity to volunteer in our National Parks. It's a great way to see a particular part of the country, meet other like-minded folks, help the National Park Service and also save a little money all at the same time. |
